Of Encyclopaedia Britannicas.
Popped it in the keep-net
And mused,
This really is a landmark
Of informational literature
But is rather wet
So not easily used.
I think I’ll stick
To the Internet.

Hard for me to believe that the Britannica is the oldest English-language encyclopaedia still being produced as I agree, I will stick with the internet.
You are right about it being still produced but not in book form – it is either online or on CD -ROM!
Do you know when the book form stopped. I know I kept mine for a long time but they came out of date so I gave them away? I like the internet. http://www.segmation.wordpress.com

I’m guessing that’s where the Morissette reference comes from (just a guess, I could be totally wrong).
Now that is reelly interesting because about ten years ago I lived with a girl who loved Alanis. Were these lines written then? If they were it is possible that I heard them unwittingly, stored them away and then subconsciously referenced them when I was writing KBGF. On the other hand you might just be totally wrong!
